I have 3 Earth boxes – 2 with tomatoes (4 different types), and one with 2 cucumber plants and an eggplant (a new adventure for me). In between the tomatoes, I have another container with a nice sweet basil plant. Everything is growing great this year, even though planting had to be late (it didn’t warm up until late May this year)
I had a bit of a scare last summer and this summer: when we lived in the Southwest, we had a black widow build her web on the Earth box in which I was growing tomatoes. Last year, and then again this year, a super-sticky,funnel-shaped web appeared on one of the Earth boxes in which I grew tomatoes. I thought we brought a stow-away! This year, though, I saw the little grey spider. It’s gone now, it seems (I hope).
