auntiemabel's Conservatory garden

Garden Type: Indoor | Sun: Don't Know | Soil: Don't Know

Normally the conservatory is the place I bring all the seedlings on before they are ready for the greenhouse and then the garden. This year, I’m keeping a selection of things in here.

There are tomatoes and chillies in tin cans (450g size). Plants are a reasonable size considering that the roots are limited, so not expecting huge crops. They need copious amounts of water and lots of feed.

Peas, in a plastic supermarket mushroom tray, are providing a steady supply of shoots for salads and risottos. Note to self: sow another tray soon

And herbs – coriander, dill, basil – in mushroom trays too. Half a packet of seed to each tray, and eaten as seedlings. Think the success to this will be regular sowing. Have chervil and sorrel to add to this, just need to find some more trays.

Eating the shoots and seedlings sounds a really good idea. I believe its good for you as well and I usually don’t seem to get any further than the seedlings before they go all weedy.
