i have roses,roses,and more roses! tuscany superb is the latest ,adeep velvety red scented old rose.also cornelia,a peach hybrid musk is lovely just now.on the patio are too many pots!camellias,[finished now],fushias,a lovely acer,clematises and loads more.the front garden has yet more roses!also sweet williams i grew from seed.pots of pelargoniums alarge brugmansia and a potted oleander also sit out the front as it faces west and gets the sun most of the day.the weather this june has been disappointing,too cool for me and my tropicals although the roses have loved it!

It’s interesting to see Brit.s now putting zone numbers on their gardens – when I was in Northumbria about 5 years ago I asked the gardener/owner at a garden/nursery open to the public what zone it was in as there was a plant I was interested in and wondered if it might grow in zone 5b. The response was that she didn’t know anything about zones – so I had to guess knowing that the Scilly Isles were zone 9.
