When the previous owner of our house, which is situated on a ridge near the Farmington Valley in Connecticut, had his front yard dug up to change the cess pool to a septic tank complete with leaching field, a student landscaper came up with a mildly terraced garden as his student project. So, when I came on the scene 9 years later, there was this fabulous perrenial flower garden that I’m still coming to know. The site was dug up again to replace the septic tank, so I’ve snuck in some herbs and even some strawberry plants, tomato plants, and a blueberry plant (and a mulberry tree across the driveway), and I’m ready to see how things evolve (as I love having edibles in my garden!).
