The plants located along the walkway from the front to back yards.
This garden has been in constant construction since I moved into this house in April of 2008. First I realized it was horribly overgrown and not taken care of. Too many bulbs which had divided and completely taken over the area (and stopped flowering because of overcrowding) and two roses which never got pruned.
In 2008 I dug out a bunch of bulbs and replanted a few of them.
In 2009 I realized I had missed a bunch during my original pass, so I realized that the only way I’d be happy with this space is to take out the vast majority of the bulbs (and really get them this time), and plant perennials and herbs. So over the span of about 2 months in early 2009 this is exactly what I did.
I took out approximately 300 bulbs/rhizomes and planted my perennials and herbs instead. I’m much happier with it now.
An outdoor organic garden located in Nelson, Canada, kelly's Side garden currently contains 0 plants.
This is a Footpath garden that is known to be in USDA Hardiness Zone 6b. It has mainly Combination soil and receives Partial Sun light.Photos

The roses are nice. I never would have planted them myself, but I’m glad they were there when we moved in. There is actually another very small (young) white rose that the previous owners put right in the middle of the yard. Which is strange, because it’s a climbing rose. So I think I’m going to transplant it into this garden this year. Hopefully we’ll get the house painted this year as well, so I can finally put up the big trellises for these guys to grow on. The red one is about 15ft long (although you can’t tell from the picture) and desperately needs better support.
