This was the first garden bed we dug. The soil seemed fine so we were going to go with inground beds for all the vegetable garden beds. This bed was dug and planted with Garlic. About a week later (the day after about 20mm of rain) we were digging the second garden bed – and accidentally stood in the first bed – sinking to our ankles in mud. Although the soil was nice, the drainage was terrible (probably due to a sandstone layer not too far down. The bed will be converted to a raised bed.
In early April 2012 this bed was reworked, adding mushroom compost, cow manure and lime. It will be used for a legume and brassica bed in a four bed crop rotation system.
An outdoor organic garden located in Warwick, Australia, hawker_rd's Vegetable bed 4 garden currently contains 3 plants.
This is a Vegetable garden that is known to be in USDA Hardiness Zone 9. It has mainly Sandy Clay Loam soil and receives Full Sun light.Plantings
