Cyclone Yasi blew in Feb 2011 and caused quite some destruction down our driveway. Following the clean-up and severe cutting back of many of the trees and shrubs, there was an opportunity to create a new garden area.
Slowly I improved the soil and built up the edges with rocks. I also added rocks in the bed itself to create a new rock garden. I have now added some plants which I hope will be fairly heat, humidity, and sun tolerant as well as waterwise. The bed will need regular watering during the establishment phase, but I’m hoping that after that the plants will cope with fairly dry conditions.
