These are my indoor houseplants. I have a cat that eats plants enthusiastically, so I have to be very careful with houseplants, so as to not poison her. Currently I have only one — a succulent that she mostly leaves alone. Even though my one houseplant spends 3-4 months of the year outside, I still think of it as a houseplant!

I’ve got two cats who are the reasons I have absolutely no plants indoors. They’ll eat anything and everything I try to plant inside. I get the feeling it’s less from a want or need to eat green things than wanton destruction . . .

I think it’s a deep need with my cat. I sprinkle some green plant powder (I think it’s made from buckwheat sprouts or something) on her food — if I run out, she refuses to even eat it! I occasionally give her fresh wheatgrass or catnip or any herb, and she just devours it. She’s one weird cat, I tell ya!
