This garden was established in 2006 from scratch. We built our new home, on a wooded site. After all the excavating and all the dirt fill brought in to level out parts of the hill for the house pad, the land now looked baren, devoid of the beauty it once had. So began plans for landscaping and entire acre. I always wanted more land for gardening and now I had it, and it was a little overwhelming to say the least. I had always worked from existing gardens designed by someone else. Now I was incharge of creating gardens around all the levels that came out of the house placement on our hillsite. We had terraced levels with cement blocks holding the land, steep walk ways and driveways. Many cement blocks were used to hold the land and created little future gardens all around the house. We had to build a retaining wall infront of the house. The blocks looked horrible to me, what happen to my wooded acre? Well many truck loads of fill were brought in and placed in the front of the blocks and eventually created a somewhat flat area for lawn and two terraced gardens in front of the walls.Landscaping at that time meant only one thing to me, plants need to cover those walls and fast. Well it remains to be a garden of challenge.
gardenbs's Path of Change garden is an outdoor organic garden located in Sequim, United States and currently contains 90 plants.
This is a Footpath garden that is known to be in USDA Hardiness Zone 8b. It has mainly Clay soil and receives Full Sun light.Photos
