debian's 10g Flood+Drain Tomato garden

Garden Type: Hydroponic | Sun: Partial Sun | Soil: None

This is my first hydro garden and my first attempt growing tomatoes. It’s made from a pair of 10g sterilite totes in an over/under flood drain system. The top is plumbed into the bottom which has a maxijet powerhead that floods the upper chamber on a schedule depending on the time of day.

The upper box is half-filled with leca. I’m using GH maxigrow single-part powder nutrient mix. I try to keep it around 2500-3000ppm and I have been having to use a little pH-up to keep the pH around 5.5 or 6.0.

It isn’t getting quite enough sun because of the trees in my backyard… they’re gonna get cut back once I have the money.
