My main growing area to the side of our house in the back garden. This location seems to be perfect for growing vegetables, slightly sheltered from the wind, but gets good sun first thing in the morning and from mid afternoon onwards.
Originally I started with one raised bed and one potato planter in 2010 and managed to successfully grow Carrots (Autumn King), Lettuce and Italian spring onions in the raised bed and a decent crop of potato’s. In the Autumn I decided to expand the growing area and added a further small raised bed and a small greenhouse and now have 4 potato planters.
Oct 2011 – All change this area has now been extended by removing a bamboo and pushing the green house further back and now includes a larger ‘E’ shaped raised bed.
An outdoor organic garden located in Bicester, United Kingdom, Russell_G's Growing Corner (Back) garden currently contains 9 plants.
This is a Raised Bed garden that is known to be in USDA Hardiness Zone 8. It has mainly Combination soil and receives Partial Sun light.Photos
