On or around 2 March 2011 I sowed Chia,Catnip,Chives,Lemongrass,Golden Purslane,Dill,Mother of Pearl Poppy,Mask Flower,Nigra Hollyhock,Thai Ruby Amaranth,Green Calaloo Amaranth and Molten Fire Amaranth. I started seeing a few sprouts by the middle of March and now am seeing quite a few sporadic shoots. I have one that is several inches tall.
The best thing is its all organic and or
is edible. I chose a location that is on a unusable slope in heavy afternoon sun. I will be adding ruby ocra and banana melons. We will eat what we can.
10 June 2011… I have identifies of 95% of the plants now ! Occasional cut worm damage etc. Looks good the passerby can now see that I have planted flowers. It gets watered thoroughly twice a week. Other days I am just utilizing a plant jug. It has rained maybe 5 times over the spring :(
16 July planted successions of melons and ,veggies also Borage and Nasturtium.
An outdoor organic garden located in Raleigh, United States, danny919's Front Border garden currently contains 93 plants.
This is a Frontyard garden that is known to be in USDA Hardiness Zone 7b. It has mainly Combination soil and receives Full Sun light.Photos

It sounds like a wonderful garden! I remember how glorious it was to finally move into a house with a yard (and later to acreage!) I do so love North Carolina and am sorry to hear about the golf courses and McMansions drying up the water table for the farmers, I suppose this is happening everywhere. Thank you for your kind comments. Farmer Rick and I continue to battle the drought here in Texas.
