I have always loved Tropical Plants, & so 4 Years ago designed part of the back garden to grow them. As I have 2 Labradors the gardens had to be fenced off from the dogs, but allowing the dogs their own patch of grass in the middle.
It has worked really well & I have been really pleased with it.
Last year 2006 was amazing for the plants but this year they haven’t been anything like as happy, & worst of all I haven’t been able to lie in the Hammock there either. Well at least nothing like as much. Half the time you needed your coat on!!!
My Cannas, Gingers & Bananas just haven’y grown as well, or for the cannas & Gingers only one group flowered, the day length with enough sun just hasn’t been there.
There are also Clematis & Jasmins growing along the back fence to add more depth.
Also in the back garden I have an area called the “Orchard” as there are Apple, Peach, Blackcurrants, Blackberries, Raspberries, Loganberries & Rhubarb in there. Again fenced off.
The third patch is half flowers & half vegetable. I also have a greenhouse & grow Tomatoes & other Tropical plants.
Located in Blyton, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom, frilledlizard07's Tropical garden is an outdoor garden that currently contains 18 plants.

I simply did not know that one could grow such tropical plants as you are in the U.K. Very nice Frilledlizard07! I sense a fountain or water feature in your future.

I am SO impressed with your wonderful tropicalness in the UK. I didn’t know one could have such fabulous tropical plants in that climate. You are a true gardener!

Thank you both so much. My love of all things tropical has meant I have been determined to succeed with them. By the time of the frosts many of the plants are in pots & so go into the greenhouse which I lag with bubble wrap & it works very well. If it is very cold I will also put fleece over them. There are some even more delicate & they just come inside the house until spring.
Your guess is right Monomuse ther are in fact 2 water features. One a small fountain & the other is a mill stone.

Wow, you are quite the tropical plant enthusiast. I am so impressed with your collection; great to see you posting shots here. Your garden looks like one from the Bahamas, Australia or California, surely not the U.K. Do you have any photos of your brambles? You’ve showed us your banana, so now let’s see your berries. (Sorry, just could not resist that one). The cordyline is simply awesome.
