My Dear Husband just loves Hosta. It is is absolute favorite plant ever. Me, I’m not so keen on it, but I let him indulge his obsession! When we moved here we had three different types of Hosta planted in the yard already. One I definitely identified as H. ungulata. The other two I’m not so sure. One could possibly be ‘Sum and Substance.’ The other is just a generic-looking medium large, all-green leaf. All of these have been divided by DH and planted in various places around the yard. He has also been buying various different varieties. I’ve bought him a few myself. He really likes the very large ones and the miniature ones.
In 2007, he decided to plant Hosta as a border around the back perimeter of our semi-circular driveway. He also has several varieties of Hosta planted in the driveway center garden, and another set planted under the Colorado Blue Spruce, and another set along the side of the front shed as well as along the front of the back shed. Get the idea? I’m surrounded!
