CDfolia's A's Old Lilac garden
Garden Type: Border | Sun: Partial Sun | Soil: Combination | Established: 2007 | Organic

The old Lilac was already here but not much else. The area gets decent sun in summer though not at other times. One trellis holds small flowered honeysuckle and a white rose (young and not flowering much yet). Another trellis is for Clematis and Sweat peas.
There are lots of spring bulbs, some dainty evergreen shrubs and lots of feverfew, sedum, salvia and dianthus in one section. The other section has Flowering current and a selection of summer perrenials which are just establishing. A big favourite when available is Annual Tagetes Tangerine Gem – dainty but bright, smells wonderful when rubbed and really fills the gaps between flowerings of the other plants.
An outdoor organic garden located in Loanhead, United Kingdom, CDfolia's A's Old Lilac garden currently contains 40 plants.
This is a Border garden that is known to be in USDA Hardiness Zone 8b. It has mainly Combination soil and receives Partial Sun light.Photos

Does your lilac have that magnificent fragrance that the older varieties are known for? This garden is so very much like the garden of my childhood, it’s quite uncanny. It contains all my fragrant favorites from memory lane, including the lily of the valley ! :)

It’s not quite as strong as the ones I think of as classic Lilacs, you do have to sniff to appreciate it.
I lot of the neighbours passing by have said the garden reminds them of their childhood gardens or classic English Country gardens. Still have lots more plants to list and I want to take photo’s of them all. Busy busy.
