When I moved into this house several years ago, there were yews along the sides and front of the house and burning bushes and a type of barberry bush along the back. After several years of work, I was finally able to get rid of all of them and put in new plantings. It’s not as easy to take care of but it looks so much better. I was never all that fond of hedge trimming anyway!

I love your Michealangelo rose! I have been looking for a yellow rose that grows in our zone well. Is this one that you are trying to grow out of its “comfort zone”, or one that is supposed to grow here? How big are the blooms, and does it have a good fragrance?
Also, I have a rose bush with some frost damage. The leaves are still alive, but do not look good. The bush has done no growing since this happened, and I was wondering if the damaged growth is sapping the plant? Should I cut it off? There is some healthy growth closer to the base of the stalks.
