I’m looking at digging up 30-40cm of grass around the fence line in the backyard garden to grow Lucerne. This would be most effective along the back fence which is the lowest part of the yard. so it received most of the runoff from the rest of the back yard. The shadier corner (north west) will host some Comfry when I can find some as this is apparently an excellent high nitrogen addition to the compost bin.

So essentially – a garden for growing Mulch and Compost.
