My “Hope Garden” is a serious venture in growing as much of my own food as possible. I took two 20×40 foot spaces in a community garden. In addition to a variety of tomatoes, peppers, peas, cucumbers, melons and green veggies, I’m putting in squash, potatoes, beans, corn, wheat, hulless oats, and hulless barley. At this point, I’m overwhelmed and don’t know how I will ever get it planted. I finally have half of the first bed dug (10×5 feet out of 10 20×5 foot beds!)
My 20 foot beds will actually be a foot or two short of 20 feet, so I can have a path down the middle in addition to paths between the beds….but at the end of the paths, I can connect the beds with a little rectangle of growing space across the end of the path.
NOTE: I just reduced this garden (on paper) by 2 beds. I will use two of them for experimental plantings of corn. See my Experimental Heirloom Garden.
You can see a satellite picture of the community garden (probably last summer), by going to:

Sorry, you will have to cut and paste that link….MyFolia isn’t taking such long URLs. But Google Maps is cool….

I think this is a wonderful concept for a garden. I’d love to do something like that myself.
Good luck with it!
