This is a composite Container garden: Pots/troughs in full sun, partial and full shade, growbags wherever they’ll fit, and a raised bed (8×4 feet)
I first started growing in containers in a previous (courtyard) garden, and, to be honest, I’m actually a bit phobic, still, about putting things in the ground (even though I’ve got lots of it)!
The raised bed and large containers for fruit are filled with a half and half mix of topsoil and Organic peat-free compost, with a generous top-dressing/mulch of home made compost
I use “New Horizon” Organic peat-free compost for everything else, never bothered with special seed compost or anything fancy
The main beasties to contend with are slugs and snails, but a combination of copper tape and Nematodes seems to do the trick.
