I turned the soil in this too alkaline by adding too much rock dust, plus we got the wrong compost (too wood chippy – not aged enough — I think we got fine mulch instead of compost, oops) so it also suffered from nitrogen draft. Everything here was really struggling for awhile, but I corrected both problems with some cottonseed meal and they’re greening up nicely now.
