Very sandy west edge of Meadow Garden, surrounding the power pole. Starting at the power pole and towards the east to the fenceline, this area was woodlands with mostly ‘pin’ Oak and ‘piss Elm’(local slang terms for saplings from seed), chock full of Hawthorne bush…couldn’t even walk through it…until 2009, when it was all cleared to the White Pines to retrieve a working windmill that the woods had swallowed up. There were mature pine trees growing up through the structure of the windmill, that unfortunately had to be ripped out also.
This garden is the beginning of the meadow and is a blank slate…save for the fact there are several Pear Cactus that survived the wreckage from the clearing. Planted annual Barley as cover crop fall of 2009.
An outdoor organic garden located in Coon Rock, United States, debit54's Meadow Power Pole garden currently contains 7 plants.
This is a Backyard garden that is known to be in USDA Hardiness Zone 4. It has mainly Sand soil and receives Partial Sun light.Photos
