We just returned from a 10 day trip to the east coast (ohhhhhhhhh it was hot!!) where I gave a talk about my China trip at the National Zoo in DC. What a fun time!!!
One of the strangest sights was to see Tai Shan (the 3 year old panda) stomping around his enclosure filled with daylily plants....

I love this time of year as I watch the buds starting to form on the plants but especially my daylilies. They are going to need some warmer weather soon to put on a proper show this season but the 2 early bloomers just scoff at the cool temps and the rain!!
