joelle_h's Sullivan House garden

Garden Type: Cottage | Sun: Don't Know | Soil: Don't Know I'm Organic!

This “garden” is a project! Its a very neglected old place, was probably a farm at some point many, many years ago. Right now it has some very overgrown apple trees, desperate looking but enormous lilac bushes and lots of other pretty trees and a big wild lawn. I have no idea what I’m doing with it yet, but I’m very excited to get started! This spring will probably be mostly about seeing what comes up, getting the lilacs and apple trees back into healthy shape and maybe planting a few things here and there. Oh right, and taming the outrageous and huge forsythia bush that is taking over the front yard.

I think its in zone 5a, but any better info on that is most welcome.

Wow. It looks like you have a big job on your hands, but how lovely to have a large space to play with, and what a change to go from Brooklyn to the sticks like this.

    Good luck :-)
