Taken In For The Year
Dahlia Duet Dormant and Rose garden
I took in my dahlia for the year, pulled the 3 new tubers off the main one, and hopefully, they will survive well this winter and be ready to go out again after the last frost.
This time, I will remember to support the plants so they will actually grow up nicely.

Really?
Tiger Lilies Budding and Rose garden
One of the lilies is actually putting up buds! I never expected buds from these guys this year. Unfortunately, the heat has done a number on them and I forgot to water them last night. Must water them this evening if the hoped for rain does not arrive.

Red buds...
Scarlet Knight Rose Budding and Rose garden
May have a new rose on it by this weekend. I am not as wild about this rose as I had hoped so far so lets see if an actual rose on it will change my mind.

Beautiful
Pristine Rose Blooming and Rose garden
Of course, I never got a picture, but Pristine did bloom and put up a beautiful white rose with a hint of pink on the edges of the bloom. Very very pretty rose. I am very pleased so far.

Leaves!
Dahlia Duet Showing True Leaves and Rose garden
I find it amazing that those dried up shriveled old tubers are putting up leaves only 12 days after planting! I hope to see my dalhia bloom this summer.

Shovel Pruned
Rose 'Double Delight' and Rose garden
Good bye double delight.
I dug her up today which I think was the right call to make. Her roots were pitiful, not much better than when she was a bareroot.
Double Delight and her rust are no more.

Not Dead!
Pristine Rose Showing True Leaves and Rose garden
Well, it went from a brown twig to 6" tall in all that rain.
Very thorny apparently. Happy to see I might have a white rose after all.
