I’ve got a nice lovely space on the roof of our townhouse that I FINALLY started using last summer (after 8 previous barren years).
I threw up a few plants last year to experiment with what would grow – turns out it’s a kick ass spot for any full sun plants. I had a whack of freebie flowers and trees that I got from a nearby hospital and to that I added some tomatoes, carrots, herbs, strawberries and zucchini.
This year I’m focusing on produce again with more carrots, tomatoes, etc and adding peas, green onions and lettuce. (Let’s hope the squirrels are behaved!). I’m also going to try and get a colour scheme going with deep green as a base, then adding a lot of the chocolate coloured flowers I bought as bulbs with some reds along the lines of cardinals and this canna picasso I bought.
So, there we go….let’s bring it on!
An outdoor organic garden located in Toronto, Canada, Glacia's Rooftop garden currently contains 38 plants.
This is a Rooftop garden that is known to be in USDA Hardiness Zone 5b. It has mainly Potting Mix soil and receives Full Sun light.Photos

Hi! Your garden looks great! Good luck this season. I’m just going to start with these cherry tomatoes for now……..depending on how this goes, I may get more ambitious.

Your rooftop garden looks great!! I see you have a big helper along for the task :). Really look forward to following your journals and seeing how your herbs and other veggies turn out.
