This was the only flowerbed when we moved here in 1997. It contained irises, and lilies. The lilies have all since gone due to lily beetle. They were mostly orange and yellow. Most of the irises have since been moved elsewhere. At the east end there is a Bleeding Heart which has grown quite large and is self-seeding quite nicely. At the west end is a clump of Fireweed (Rose Bay Willow Herb) which I started from seed a cousin sent me from up-home (north shore of Lake Superior). This bed is edged by a cement sidewalk which is deteriorating quite badly and filling the bed with stone, etc. This year we are hoping to cover the whole mess with an veranda, so everything that is growing will have to be moved.
January 01, 2011 – didn’t get done in 2010. Hopefully will be done in 2011.
