SUMMER 2010 The lasagna mix has composted down to almost nothing in depth. I added 2 large bags of about half composted leaves, 2 bags of moonure and some garden soil.
Planted – Pole Beans.
FALL/WINTER 2010 Turnips, peas, carrots, radishes, beets, spinach. Planted peas too late; everything else did well.
SUMMER 2010 Scarlet Runner Beans (FAIL), Green Beans (FAIL), Black Eyed Peas.
SPRING 2010 English Peas, Sugar Snap Peas, Swiss Chard
Created February 2010.
4′ × 6′ × 1′ deep.
Lasagna bed layers:
Covered the ground with light layer of active compost, sprinkled on top dried molasses, layer of cardboard, layer of Christmas tree limbs, leaves from forest floor and “new” unprocessed kitchen waste, layer of home made compost, layer of hay, sprinkled layer of organic fertilizer (from wells bros), dried molasses, bone meal, blood meal and finally a layer of purchased mix (1/2 “organic” compost, 1/2 pro bedding mix)
