Planting on pure lava rock…i have to build beds, compost, add my own soil and mulch, hardscapiing, nutrients and then all my exotic plants which i have been collecting in pots and planning a beautiful garden filled with different garden rooms.

I love the bromelaid. My dad loves those!! I grew up in Florida, as I said yesterday, and so I spent a great deal of time around these types of plants. I don’t know how to care for them though. :) My dad told me that some types of bromelaid are home to fish. I asked him how they got there, and he told me that they were carried along on or inside of birds, and dropped in there.
    Sounds a bit far fetched, but we were within a mile or two of the Intercoastal Waterway, (Indian River), and so I guess it is possible!! :)
