I had not grown strawberries for a while as the slugs seem to eat more than I do. I had this idea for a ‘mobile strawberry garden’ that could be relocated to fend off the slugs and chickens and make the most of the sun when it arrives in the spring. Grace was very interested in the strawberries and helped me with the planting into window box containers that we will start off on the empty small holding.
I suspect that because the plants are in a window box they may not yields as much fruit as if they were planted directly in the ground but this will have to be balanced against the amount gained but out foxing the slugs and chickens
