Mimosamargot

Mimosamargot's Surprise patch garden

Garden Type: Terrace | Sun: Partial Sun | Soil: Silt

I love my garden. I share it with several million slugs and snails, not to mention the greenfly. The most successful of my plants are those that have self-seeded. Hence its name. Most of the things I plant succumb to the above mentioned friends. Some years I manage to harvest the runner beans that have survived slug attacks.

Last year I got a new garden shed which is big enough to stand up in. I can now reach everything without having to move several items first.

My biggest failure is the inability to grow clematis. I follow all the instructions – shade the roots, plant deeply with lots of compost – but usually only manage 1 to 3 blooms! Better luck this year.

Good luck with the clematis – I’ve had a pretty mixed sort of experience with them myself. I think it’s getting better, but it’s taken several years so be encouraged! A myFolia friend sent me a link to this website which has a list of Q and As under the help tab: http://www.britishclematis.org.uk
