My primary garden, making an effort to reduce the food bills by doing something different. Four beds raised over rocky ground in an effort t make something of the land we’ve got and maybe work the soil beneath the beds to a diggable state.

Welcome to Folia!! Yes, it is good to work with what you have rather than sit around wondering how you could garden on rock in the first place!! People garden for various reasons, but I think that there are a lot of newbie gardeners that started gardening recently to cut back on food costs!! I have saved us quite a lot of money by canning the tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, jalepenos, etc. It has been quite a year for us!! Spaghetti sauce, stewed tomatoes, pickled japenos, it adds up over time.
I hope that you enjoy the site as much as I am. If you need any help getting set up, or just have some gardening questions, there is a Help group in the Groups page. I have found that I should not worry about how silly my questions may be, that I most always get a good response, and quickly!!
Happy Gardening!!!
