I am a plant collector, plant connoisseur, amateur plant researcher and plant stalker. I write the blog The Variegated Thumb. I primarily garden in containers, growing a bunch of tropical plants that have to be brought in over winter. I collect Aroids from these genera: Aglaonema, Alocasia, Anthurium, Anubias, Cryptocoryne, Dieffenbachia, Monstera, Philodendron, Syngonium, Scindapsus. I am also obsessed with Asarums and plants from the Marantaceae family (Marantas, Calatheas, Ctenanthes and Stromanthes). The Aroid genera Anubias and Cryptocoryne are aquatic species that I grow in my fish aquariums (a tangent hobby).

Zone 7a I started this terrarium sometime during 2006 or 2007. It houses just a couple of plants and a really cool piece of driftwood I collected.
