i love to grow all kinds of plants – indoors, and outdoors. because i live in an area with a relatively short growing season, i fill our little house with lots of indoor plants as well so i can be surrounded by green, living things – even when it’s a frozen wasteland outside.
over the winter, i’m going to try to journal about my 2009 summer garden. it was the first year i was able to plant in our backyard (2008 was our first summer in this house, but we spent much of the summer cleaning up after the previous owners let it get overgrown with nasty weeds and also did a bunch of hardscaping).
i love being in my garden. it is such a peaceful place, and digging around in there gives me a real sense of connection to the earth. i especially love the satisfaction that comes from growing our own food (my b-f is the tomato expert in our household) we both love the fresh, tasty goodness of eating produce from our garden in the summer!
