My Ace 55 tomatoes are doing great in the square foot garden, but the ones by the back fence are definitely struggling. What is missing in the soil out there to make them harden on the tops like this when ripening? The stay lighter in color on the tops… the bottom 2/3rds of the fruit is fin...

A few days ago the peas began sending out little coils… they searched for a while and now that the plants have grown tall enough, they are finding the fence and grabbing on.

The tropical moisture from the residual of Hurricane Fay finally made it up to us here in PA yesterday. I know she was not so nice to Florida, but she certainly brought us what we needed in the way of rain.
We received hours and hours of slow, steady rain beginning in the late morning and raining...

While out watering last evening I found these sprouted in the garden. Much to my suprise… right smack in the middle of my Vulcan Swiss Chard. This morning I pulled it all out. Seems to be either squash/cukes/melons and some sort of grain/grass.
The real mystery is what/who buried it there...
