11 Sep 2008We've got yellow! 1 Mammoth Sunflower Flowering and Back Fence Garden gardenCloudy 17°C / 63°F
The mammoth sunflowers are flowering and oh so lovely. It amazes me how long they take to open and stretch out. They are a bee’s delight with all of the pollen. The spiders seems to have figured out they are a good place to find lunch.

02 Sep 2008Darn those white butterflies! 6Argh. I was just standing in my upstairs bathroom, looking down at the back yard and I counted no less than 12 white butterflies out there. (tears hair out) Late summer has brought them to me in droves. Just yesterday I picked green caterpillars off of several of my mesclun mix baby plants. The...Sunny 26°C / 79°F

01 Sep 2008Hot Salsa - Homemade Variety 5 1228°C / 82°F
Today was salsa day. The chopping, as always, is the most time consuming part. But first, I boiled hot water and poured it over all of my available ripe tomatoes, making the skins slide right off. I skinned and stemmed them carefully looking for bad spots, then gathered all the other ingredients....
