    Waah!
Uh-oh. Left in a hurry today without watering — I meant to, because my seedlings were moist yesterday but I could see the top layer of soil was a little dry. It got up to 90 while I was gone and when I came home a lot of my little seedlings were wilted. Especially the arugula, lying right d...

Which is which? Balcony Container Garden garden and Strawberries, Sweet Bounty and/or Sweet Titan Blooming
I can’t figure out which of my plants are Sweet Bounty and which are Sweet Titan. Not sure it matters much — apparently both are being sold by the same company in large commercial venues online and on TV, but there is no mention of them elsewhere. So I’m going to edit my plantin...

Update on the first tray — I found my little map to it and used the chives as a reference point. I now have chives, two Shinguku chyrsanthemums, one cosmos, one breadseed poppy, one garlic chive. The chrysanthemums have been up for a few days but I couldn’t figure out what they were w...

More second tray sprouts Neutral Seed Starting garden , Nasturtium, Trailing Single (Pers D1, Prov B1) Sprouting, Basil, Genovese (Pers B1x ...
Everything in my second tray is now sprouted, including both basil and nasturtium*. The cabbages were up yesterday, and there are a few nasturtiums today. I’m afraid all the lettuce and arugula are too tall and leggy — long long fragile stems — but I’m setting it outside f...

    Online Web Soil Survey 1
A link on a mailing list pointed me to the online Web Soil Survey from the USDA. Directions on the website are pretty clear — you open their web application, locate your area (I entered county and state, then zoomed in on the map, since I don’t know the street address for the communit...

I moved my seed trays out of my living room, which is dim even when I have the blinds open, and onto my balcony. It is cold but sunny today, so once the sun moves around to the west side they will have some sunshine, and in the meantime they will get some brighter light. I took the lids off the l...

Shungiku Chyrsanthemum Seed Starting garden and Chrysanthemum, Shungiku (for stir-fry) (died) Sprouting
I think these were up about the 6th or 7th of May — I didn’t record it because I had lost my notes and couldn’t tell what they were yet.

My second tray of seeds is starting to sprout — Wow – I have 18 cells of arugula (accidentally) and almost all of them are up. It is definitely EASY to germinate. The Super Gourmet Lettuce Blend is also popping up.
