I grew up on a farm but moved to the big city, had a small garden for a few years, and then after moving around many times, I am now settled down in western Connecticut. I have been very slow to get a garden going for a variety of reasons: lack of time, largely due to my 3 year old daughter, a lack of money, the daunting challenge of laying out a garden with heavy tree cover and a number of problematic animals (deer, woodchucks, and numerous squirrels) and a general lack of knowledge in dealing with all of the above :)
Last year I grew a few things on my deck, this year I managed to put together a couple of raised beds.
My dream is to replace much of the lawn with edible plants and trees and have a solar powered dome greenhouse. It will take a while to get there. I can use all the help I can get :)
I have a blog at www.veganmilitia.org. All photos of my garden can be found at https://plus.google.com/photos/109920212061848308238/albums/5357216081262265105
