I ran across this plant last night in my travels. It’s like nothing I’ve seen before.
It sorta looks like a fuschia, including it’s semi-woody stems (which, btw, when cut reveal a blood red center), but the leaves and flowers are fleshy, more delicate and fragile like a begonia....

A quick-n-dirty video walk-thru of the property on a beautifully hot and muggy fall day, to give a good idea what it really looks like. Though to my surprise a video seems to make it look much smaller than it really is. Maybe it’s just my cheap camera phone.

It was a beautiful day in the neighborhood. I got a few things accomplished the past few days but, of course, my seedlings outpace me again.
The landscaper brought me a few bags of mini-bark/mulch so I cleaned up the front stairs area, planted out the Johnny jump-ups and included a few plugs of t...

Thanks so much!

Despite the rainy, gloomy weather some of my fine leaved friends still have the wherewithal to bloom. Just enough to brighten the day. Only one issue came up and that’s the tree lupine. It’s not even winter and it’s caught a case of the powdery mildews. It’s a native so I&...Rainy 17°C / 62°F -

What a lovely little (big) shade plant this is. A neighbor has this in their tropical garden and they have no idea what it is and I don’t either. I’d really like to find one for myself. Could you help identify it?
It’s living in bright/full shade, is about 2’ tall and abou...
