The strawberry plants that I planted last year have been taking over. I’m going to have to pick them back soon. We will have so many strawberries soon. Time for homegrown strawberry shortcake!

I pulled a couple of carrots and picked some cayenne and another squash. The season is getting underway. Tomatoes are getting bigger and cucumbers are about to come in abundance. I go out everyday to find more surprises waiting for me. So exciting.

I built a small trellis for the pole beans the other day. I used some old limbs from a plant Tripp trimmed in early spring. The beans are finally having a growth spurt and they are beginning to find the trellis. It’s strange how they reach and latch on.

The soybeans are getting bigger and I cannot wait until I can have some edamame pods for lunch. They seem to be doing great and I have a feeling we will be freezing some pods for winter.

I included a picture of the avocado seed I have been rooting for the last couple of months. I have been coddling this seed forever and the other day, its first leaves and stem peeked their little heads from the top of the already rooting seed. Yay! I’ll finally be able to pot it soon.
