Close to Bloom 1 Roman Chamomile Flowering
Chamomile is interesting. It starts small but by the end of the season can easily engulf all the plants around it. For this reason, I’ve tried to refrain from watering it as much as other things. It gets massive otherwise.

Preparing for the Inevitable 4 Party in the Back garden , The Waiting Room garden , and Business in Front garden
Unless my disability suddenly becomes cured enough for me to join the workforce again or I win the lottery, it’s looking like I’m going to lose my home. Which isn’t fun but the absolute worst bit of it is losing the gardens I’ve planned so carefully and toiled over. Partic...

Speedier 2 Sunflower 'Edible Snack Seed' Sprouting and The Waiting Room garden
I decided to experiment with soaking them for about 24 hrs before planting. I think it worked. I wish I had been good about writing a Folia entry the day I planted them. I didn’t. So I’m just guessing when they were sown. However, they definitely did sprout today. I decided to start m...

Most Flowering 3 Tomato 'Koralik' Flowering, Tomato 'Legend' Flowering, Tomato 'Stupice' Flowering, Tomato 'Matt's Wild Cher...
Most of the experimental tomatoes I got from CCSF are flowering. One that isn’t has buds on the verge of doing so.

Dead Except for the Rootstock 1 1 Very Unhappy Persimmon 'Chocolate' Dying and Persimmon 'Nishimura Wase or Coffee Cake' Dying
This is my first major disappointment from Raintree Nursery. I wrote them because although there’s a blurb on their website about how shipped bareroot persimmons sometimes take longer to break dormancy, it’s well past time these should have woken up. The rootstocks have leafed out but...

Baby Carrots 1 Carrot 'Purple Haze' Harvesting
Because I raised them in containers and wasn’t brutal in thinning them, they are not attaining supermarket sizes. But they’re more tender this way. ‘Purple Haze’ tends to get a bit woody in the center otherwise.

Only One Apple 'Hauer Pippin' Setting Fruit
This had several blossoms but bloomed slightly later than the Yellow Newton Pippin, which put it square in harm’s way when we got late rains and perfect fireblight weather. The rain would have deterred pollinators in the first place, and it’s possible that the copper sprays needed to ...

Setting Fruit 1 Grapefruit 'Oro Blanco' Setting Fruit
Several set fruits already. If all of them come to fruition, the branches are probably going to need support.

    One by One Tayberry Fruiting
Not a ton of fruit, but definitely delicious. I think it’s soared to perhaps the second-best tasting in the entire cane berry bed.
