Taking Down the Towers 1 Swiss Chard 'Verde a Costa Larga Argentata' Harvesting
I have quite a few chard that had bolted. Like, more than a dozen. Some reached really high heights because they got in a lot of growing while the weather was still cool. Anyway, I needed to plant some of the snow pea sprouts and the place on the backside of the existing one doesn’t get eno...

8 Pakistan mulberries 3 Sequoia strawberries 1 Tayberry 8 Olallieberries 2 of what I now believe to be Boysenberries (1 more dropped and I couldn’t find it despite risking thorns to do so) A bit short of a half pint of Else’s Choice raspberries 5 Carouby de Maussane snowpeas 6 stalks ...

Raintree Nursery offered to replace the trees that were DOA. UPS arrived late last night so I potted them today. I kept the rootstocks from the other ones (the rootstock was still alive). If I were able to afford to stay at my home, I’d graft different persimmon varieties on them next Janu...

3rd Try 1 Cucumber 'Lemon' Transplanted and EarthBox garden
Here goes the 3rd attempt at growing this variety this year. Hopefully it’s big enough the slugs won’t completely kill it. I transplanted it from its pot to an EarthBox.

I planted one of the 3 out in the southwestern bed near the center. Not sure whether I’ll plant the others nearby or somewhere else.

Slug Control 2 Party in the Back garden
I bought a Slug-X from Wiggly Wigglers. It’s the ol’ beer trap, just a little easier to maintain and more sightly. The hardest part for me is getting cheap beer. I don’t drink beer so I have to make a point of picking it up somewhere cheap. The liquor store near me will be more ...

Hitting Their Stride 3 Olallieberry 'Olallieberry' Harvesting
Getting enough to provide a decent portion, now. When I see enough at one time, I’ll make a low-carb crumble of them using almond meal rather than flour. Olallieberries not only taste great but achieve a really nice size.

Havested the first of these today. They are not particularly tender but they’re not bad. Very pretty.
