My Green Zebra tomato totally shadowed the Dragon Purple Carrots, and I only got to harvest them now. They look gorgeous! Beauty is only skin deep though. Once I peeled them you cannot tell that they were purple. Still, I loved its color! Will definitely grow more.

Finally harvested some yard long beans! I left one of them for too long, and it’s all soft and yellow. I pinched it open and extracted the seeds for next year. For the green ones, I chopped them up and made an egg stir-fry, just like how my grandma made it when I was a kid. Yum!

I have been using my garlic for cooking, but this weekend I decided to try roasting. I chopped of the first third, poured in some olive oil, and wrapped it it foil. Then I put it in the oven for 50 minutes. It has a pretty mild taste, so I had to add salt when I spread it on bread.

The yard long beans really defied my expectation: yes, I thought they’ll be long. But I didn’t realize that they are stiff too, and sticks out to the air when they first start forming. And they are purple!
