28 Jul 2008Tomato worms My First Container gardenEww these guys are disgusting!! And they are eating my plants, even worse. Mr. Stripey is almost nude. I found one yesterday, and seven (including two little ones on my yellow pear) this morning. I threw them into the neighbor’s yard (don’t worry, no one lives there) for the boids.

05 Jul 2008Damn bugsI looked at some of my plants that were in potting soil and they have these little nasty bugs on them. I looked around on the internet and have determined that they are fungus gnats. NASTY. One of the plants is REALLY infested. Totally gross.

16 Jun 2008Dead Sweet Basil and My First Container gardenIt got sicky. Of course, now that I have lost two herbs I read that they need some crappy soil. The stuff I had them planted in was pretty compacted and was really holding the water. Will try again, mixing in some sand with the soil.
