I’m a beginner gardener, interested in growing veggies. There’s been a steep learning curve since we bought our house, I’d never really grown anything at all. Now we have a big yard with almost nothing in it. I’ve tried lots of veggies so far with limited success, but I think slowly I’m beginning to get the hang of it and had some great tomatoes over summer. I get really excited when something I’ve planted actually produces fruit and eventually I’d like our veggie garden to provide most of our basics, mainly because its healthier and really rewarding but also for financial reasons. I try my best to avoid chemicals in the garden, this leads to me spending many hours weeding, but we are slowly getting things under control.

I’m less interested in the ornamental side of the garden, but it is something I need to work on as its all pretty bare and boring at the moment.
