    took these three honey locust to Woodland. they’re in a little greenhouse right now, but they’ll eventually be planted in the goat paddock.

    my sister just sent me a text message: ramps!I assume that means the ramps are up. have you had ramps? you should have ramps. buy some from G&N. seriously. ramp people: back me up here. schools and businesses and governments are closed in celebration of ramps. grow ramps.

    looks like one of my akebias is going to flower this year. it’s close to a south-facing wall, so maybe the extra heat made the difference. the buds are cute little spheres at the moment. they look like a tiny bunch of grapes. the vine is also growing like crazy.

    started some more akebia to grow up the downspouts and stair railings of our apartment building. these seedlings should take care of cross-pollination so there will hopefully be akebia fruit eventually. these things grow fast, but I think flowering the first year is unlikely. next year, though...
