In August 2009 we purchased a house with outdoor space (front & back). After about 15 years of living in NYC and not having any outdoor space this is a huge & pleasant readjustment.

I’m looking forward to having a mixed use space of flowers and food and inviting lots of nature back into my life.

However, my main to-do list right now is on keeping the yard alive and getting the black-eyed susans the prior owner planted under control. We also need to map out what we have and what we want to change. Next spring will be a surprise!

My absolute favourite flower is the montauk daisy. I’m going to try to grow some, but I’m not sure if I’ll succeed.

I’m also looking forward to having more rich compost day by day.

(note: Westchester is the county where we live. I don’t really want the world easily knowing my exact gardening address!)
