Mmerose

I love roses! At last count, I had 80 bushes, but I am sure that will be updated once I finish actually listing them all! Although I have many Hybrid Teas (most of which came with the house) I prefer old varieties and roses on their own roots. I do not see any point to a rose with no fragrance! I added several fragrant miniatures last year. Daylillies and Siberian Iris are also on my favorites list. I have several daylillies that my daughter created as a child – she loved to play butterfly and cross pollinate them. Since last year, I have been working to make my backyard a haven for the birds. I’ve added native plants, bird houses, feeders and birdbaths. This is going to be a several year project. It is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but I had to wait until our cat got too old to chase the birds. At her advanced age, she now just curls up in the sun and talks to them! I will be adding lots of pictures as my plants bloom this year.
