    Winter of 2010-2011

    Spearmint and Inside Pots garden
This winter really hit the poor mint hard. We moved and it doesn’t have as good a sunny spot to live, but that is only partially the house, and partially the clouds that never let the sun shine. It died back almost entirely, and a few days ago I started keeping it outside and we’ll ...

    First results.

Tomato - Bloody Butcher Sprouting and Wee Things garden
For my experiment of peat pots vs egg cartons with Jiffy Seed Starting mix I’m finding in favor of egg cartons. 5 of 6 Bloody butcher seeds have germinated. The three Egg have starting growing up, with one already free of the seed shell. 2 of 3 of the Pot seeds have germinated, but just ...

    Number 3.

    Tomato - Belii Neliv
While mucking about in the egg cartons I discovered one more Belii Neliv that has sprouted, making it number three. I moved in into a yogurt carton like the other tomato seedlings that have germinated (with the exception of the one Beaverlodge early-set that just sprouted, which is in a peat pot...

My one new seed has sprouted, so I’m tossing the three older seeds… It germinated earlier and stronger looking than the other seeds I was doing on the cookie sheet with chamomile tea watering… really don’t know what that means… does the peat pot wick and maintain m...

I’ve moved one of the germinated sage seeds into it’s own pot, which is now beside the kitchen window. I’ve also planted the terribly spindly and sad looking tomatoes that have sprouted, into quart sized yogurt containers with a little Tomato Alive! Since I’ve been moving...
