Shifted Spotty geranium Moved and Upper slope garden
I’ve moved this geranium from the sun-baked spot out front to a semi-shade spot out back. It seems happier, but I’ll know more next year. It definitely seems to self-seed in my parents’ garden in the shadier places.

Oh yeah! 1 3 Carrots "Early Nantes 2" - first tub Harvesting and Backyard garden
Well, growing the carrots in tubs seems to have worked! I got my first ever carrots. They aren’t enormous, but that’s fine. I’ve left a fair few in the tub to grow on a bit after taking these out.

Gardening has been somewhat squeezed by too much new job. This is a mixed thing. The paycheck is better for the job, but the satisfaction… well… I’m not saying! The rocket has gone out, pretty haphazardly. Slugs seem to have eaten some, we’ll see what happens. The leeks ha...

Managed a rather tasty pea and broad bean risotto. Peas and beans from the veg patch. Then used the pea pods in a chicken stock. We’ll have to see how it tastes.

Stewed currants Whitecurrant Harvesting and Veg patch garden
After spotting a young blackbird starting to pick my white currants for me, I thought I’d better pick them all. Got quite a lot more than last year, but I could have sworn last year all the currants were ready around the same time. Still, we’ve got quite a lot of white currants, so to...

Well, I harvested the last of my new potatoes yesterday. I have got to say the tubs of potatoes have been a resounding success. Definitely worth doing again next year, although hopefully I’ll be able to buy fewer spuds to put in them. Maybe get to Seedy Sunday again, and only buy 6. We̵...
