I don’t lead a very exciting life LOL.
I am a happily married stay at home home to a tween daughter, a dog and a fat cat.
I find the winters very long, cold and somewhat depressing. I can’t stand cold weather and I often wonder why I ever moved to the north. Then I remember my sweet husband :-) He doesn’t really have an interest in gardening, but does enjoy building things to put in my garden or walking around the garden with me as I show him every new bloom that day.
When I’m in the garden I feel happy. The time melts away and I’m in a zone all my own. It’s a nice distraction and I enjoy my “me” time. It never ceases to amaze me when those little seedlings turn into beautiful lush plants. I feel such a sense of accomplishment.
I grow most of my plants from seed. I purchase seeds commercially or trade with new found gardening friends. I have a wonderful gardening buddy in the Netherlands (it’s not such a small world). I also purchase plants I can’t grow, or ones I fall in love with at the garden centre (more than I care to admit).
I have a small vegetable garden and several flower gardens which are filled with mostly perennials. We recently bought the small spare lot besdie our house and are slowly converting it into my “woodland” area. So now I am trying to accumulate shade plants.
